本田就曾于2012 年首次推出了本田 Uni-Cub，一款具有平衡控制技术和全向驱动轮的电动智能椅，可以根据人体体重的变化改变移动方向，在东京展会上受到了大量关注，十年后本田又推出了 Uni-Cub 的进阶版——UNI-ONE
这款产品是本田基于对人形机器人的研究，加入了自平衡技术的智能轮椅，为商务休闲等场景设计。适用于办公楼、咖啡厅、家中等室内场景，像送文件、拿咖啡、行走办公等都能为你省下不少时间。
UNI-ONE 外形就是一个笨重的大方块，人坐在顶部，靠背低矮，椅子在人体小腿和腰部位置都配置了安全带，使用时需要把安全带系上。
车轮由四个小轮子和两个大轮子组成，前行时也是十分稳定，路过地毯、小落差时也能平稳经过。
椅子的前进的速度与方向都是靠人体重心移动来控制，UNI-ONE 内部有一个姿势传感器，在收集了大量人们日常行走轨迹的运动数据后，系统可以通过感知人体移动倾向从而改变椅子移动的方向，微微向前倾椅子就能向前前行，向左向右扭动身体 UNI-ONE 也会跟着左转或右转，十分灵活。
当你拿东西够不着时你还能控制椅子升降，按下按钮后椅子会提升高度，并将支撑的四个外扩小轮子收起，放下后会自动扩展以支撑椅子保持平衡。据设计者表示，这是为了让你能与他人平等对话设计的功能。而且 UNI-ONE 能自动检测使用者需要上升的高度，当你与对方视线齐平时会自动停止上升。
就算你手上的东西不小心掉了，轮椅放低后弯腰就能轻松捡拾起掉落的物品。
需要注意的是，只有当座椅表面升高时，使用者才能依靠身体重心操控，当座椅表面降低时，只能操作操纵杆移动。
UNI-ONE 的控制模式由侧面的按钮切换，但如果系统被检测出现故障，UNI-ONE 将自动放低轮椅，切换到操纵杆操纵。
为了减少颠簸，车轮和座椅表面都安装了软橡胶，在不平坦的地面行走也能减轻震感。
当然，这对腿部受伤不便行走或身体有缺陷的人也是一个非常好的日常出行解决方案，与户外出行工具不同，UNI-ONE 的设计重点在于舒适性与稳定性，安全性极高，而且体积不大，进出各种房间也十分方便，UNI-ONE 还获得了2022 Good Design金奖，虽说科技是因为人类的懒惰而进步，但这个设计是好是坏大家怎么看呢？
